Notting Hill carnival: a love letter to London's biggest parade
Notting Hill carnival is the biggest street party in Europe and happens every summer in west London. Press coverage often focuses on negative aspects of the gathering and can miss the celebration of the local community and culture that makes carnival so unique to London. The Guardian asks Radio 1's Clara Amfo, grime artist Big Zuu, activist 'Uncle Niles' Hailstones, entrepreneur Levi Roots, DJ Keith Franklin, organiser Lady Lee Woolford Chivers and rapper Lava La Rue about why they love it so much, and what keeps them coming back year after year.
